*yawn*... *stretch*

Good morning beautiful world!
Ok, I know it really isn't morning, but spring is about here and it sure feels that way!
How did you fare through this winter? Did you get enough water to survive? Did you have to supplement? Did you get too cold and had to cover? Here we made it! I have buds on my blueberries, the columbines have new leaves growing, even the roses are starting to wake up!
Now is the time to go through your plants and trim off those branches that didn't make it through the winter. You can see the difference in each branch. Where the growth actually died the growth is truly a "stick". A bit darker, brittle, and because there is no moisture or life, that area shrinks a bit.
I also decided that today is a good day to start to water. I will have to be careful! This is March, and we are in Colorado. Snow and freezing is a distinct possibility for 2 months still! But I have learned that if you start watering and pay attention to the weather, you can lightly cover your buds and budding plants during really cold nights. BUT IT IS STILL A RISK!! I have lost plants still!!
How did the girls fare? Wonderfully of course!! Pictures tomorrow!!
